Why mod a Trident 660
The Trident 660 has a non-adjustable fork, a preload-only shock until 2026 and two-piston sliding brakes. The mods that matter are protection, a tail tidy, suspension springs and cartridges, and a flash.
Trident 660 street mods, in order
Tail tidy
Fit a tail tidy that replaces the rear fender plate display and keeps the OE rear light and indicators. Evotech lists separate kits for 2021–24, 2025, the Triple Tribute Edition (2024+) and 2026+, so buy by year.
Protection
Fit frame sliders (R&G Aero, Puig Vintage 2.0 or Hepco & Becker crash bars, all listed 2021+) and GB Racing engine covers (2021–26). Evotech lists crash bobbins, spindle bobbins and a radiator guard for 2026+ and the Triple Tribute Edition.
Levers and screen
Fit short or folding levers (Evotech lists both for 2021–24 and 2026+) and a screen: Puig lists a Sport Screen and Pyramid a fly screen for 2021+, and Triumph sells a colour-coded flyscreen.
Exhaust
Competition Werkes lists a Trident 660 slip-on for 2022+. Akrapovič, SC-Project, LeoVince, ZARD and Scorpion list full systems, and Akrapovič's is closed-course only.
Flash
Woolich lists the Trident/Street Triple 660 for 2020–26. BT Moto sells a 2020–23 Triumph 660 Stage 1+ tune and DNK TuneWorks a $275 tuning file; both list a removed top-speed limiter and a raised redline or limiter, for closed-course use.
Suspension
Fit springs for your weight first: the fork has no adjusters, and a separate-function fork carries its spring in one leg and its damping in the other. Nitron lists a TVT22 fork cartridge kit and R1 and R3 shocks for 2021–24.
Trident 660 track build, in order
Tires
Fit sport tires in 120/70-17 and 180/55-17 (Q5, Supercorsa SP, Rosso IV). The OE Michelin Road 5 is a sport-touring tire.
Brake consumables
Fit sintered pads, fresh fluid and a lever guard. Radial calipers belong to the Daytona 660's different fork (110 mm travel against the Trident's 120 mm), so they are a fork swap, not a bolt-on.
Springs, then damping
Fit fork and shock springs for your weight, then a cartridge kit and a damping-adjustable shock (Nitron lists both for 2021–24). The 2026 shock adds rebound adjustment.
Crash-ready
Fit case covers (GB Racing), axle sliders (R&G lists a front set, Evotech a rear set) and Triumph's aluminium belly pan accessory, and check your organization's fluid-catch rules.
Full system, flash, gearing
Pair a full system with a flash. Sprocket Center lists the stock 2021–25 gearing as 16/51 on a 520 chain (120 links); the 2026 bike has new ratios and a new final drive, so its sprockets are their own listing.
Trident 660 fitment by year (2021–24, 2025 update, 2026 update)
- 2021–242021–2024
Launch bike: 81 PS claimed from the 660 triple, a non-adjustable Showa 41 mm SFF fork, a preload-only Showa shock, Nissin two-piston sliding front calipers on 310 mm discs, Michelin Road 5 tires, 189 kg wet and an 805 mm seat. Road and Rain modes with switchable traction control. Triumph's Shift Assist quickshifter and My Triumph Connectivity module were accessories; the 2024 model added colors. $7,995 for 2021.
- 2025 update2025
Showa SFF-BP fork (still no adjusters), a six-axis IMU with cornering ABS and traction control, Shift Assist and cruise control as standard, a Sport mode and built-in connectivity, plus a forged aluminum top yoke and brake pedal. Engine, brakes, shock and tires carry over. 190 kg wet. Evotech lists its tail tidy and indicators for 2025 as their own fitment.
- 2026 update2026–present
A 95 PS engine that matches the Daytona 660's output and redline: 95 PS at 11,250 rpm, 12:1 compression, three 44 mm throttle bodies, a larger airbox, a re-engineered head with larger exhaust valves and higher-lift cams, a 12,650 rpm redline, a larger radiator, new gearbox shafts and ratios, a new final drive and a revised catalyst and silencer. Also a revised frame, a wider tank, a split seat, a new headlight, and a Showa shock with rebound adjustment; the 2026 spec also lists braided brake lines and a span-adjustable brake lever. 195 kg wet, 810 mm seat. Brakes stay two-piston sliding.

Trident 660 parts interchange
Reported by riders; verify before buying. Full chart → See also: Triumph Daytona 660, Triumph Street Triple 765.
- The Tiger Sport 660 shares the Trident 660's engine family, and GB Racing lists one engine-cover set for both (2021–26 and 2022–26). Hepco & Becker's crash bars, R&G's axle sliders and the Scorpion and ZARD exhausts also list both bikes (vendor-listed); the MAP-hose and fork-cap recalls covered both. Bodywork, subframe, screen and luggage mounts don't cross.
- The Daytona 660 shares the clutch and pulse engine covers with the Trident 660 (GB Racing lists one set for both), but its alternator cover is its own. Triumph lists a different fork (110 mm travel against 120 mm), radial four-piston calipers and clip-ons, so forks, calipers, clip-ons and bodywork don't cross.
- The Street Triple 765 is a 765 cc engine on a different chassis; parts don't cross despite the shared badge family.
Triumph Trident 660 mods FAQ
Is there a slip-on exhaust for the Trident 660?
Yes, one: Competition Werkes lists a slip-on for 2022+. Akrapovič, SC-Project, LeoVince, ZARD and Scorpion list full systems, and Akrapovič's Racing Line is closed-course only with a check-engine light on Euro 5+ bikes.
What changed on the 2025 Trident 660?
A Showa SFF-BP fork, a six-axis IMU with cornering ABS and traction control, Shift Assist and cruise control as standard, a Sport mode, built-in connectivity and a forged top yoke. The engine, brakes, shock and tires carried over, so most 2021–24 bolt-ons fit; fork parts and some Evotech kits don't.
Is the 2026 Trident 660 a different bike for parts?
Mostly yes. It has a 95 PS engine, a revised frame, a new tank, seat and headlight, new gearbox ratios and final drive, a revised catalyst and silencer, and a rebound-adjustable shock. Expect exhausts, tail tidies, seats, sprockets and protection to be 2026-specific; the brakes and wheel sizes carry over.
What recalls should I check on a used Trident 660?
Three US recalls: the 2022 side stand (22V-062), the 2022–24 MAP-sensor hose that could cause stalling (23V-583, shared with the Tiger Sport 660) and the 2023 fork caps (24V-109). All are free dealer fixes and show on a VIN check.
What should I upgrade first on a Trident 660 for track days?
Springs for your weight, then a shock and cartridge kit. The non-adjustable fork and preload-only shock are the limit, so tires and pads come next; the sliding two-piston calipers are fine with good pads.
